November – Abundant Wonder at Canberra Museum and Gallery, Tom to take part in a DESIGN Canberra Symposium and a hot glass demonstration at Canberra Glassworks.

The Abundant Wonder exhibition will open at the Canberra Museum and Gallery on Thursday the 3rd November.  It will be on show until February 11, 2023.  This will be the 10th stop of it’s national tour and we are heading into the home stretch with it coming back to Adelaide in July next year, with two more locations in between – Geelong and Mt Gambier.

Tom will also be participating in the Design Canberra Festival, as a speaker in the Design Thinking, Learning and Making in Canberra: Legacies and New Initiatives Symposium.  He will be in conversation with the Geelong Gallery Director and CEO Jason Smith and Blanche Tilden, a jeweller whose national touring exhibition, Ripple Effect is showing concurrently at CMAG.  Blanche and Tom met while studying at the Canberra School of Art and Design’s Glass workshop and have stayed connected ever since.  Because she is awesome.

This talk will happen at 6-8pm on Friday 4th November at the Canberra Museum and Gallery and is a ticketed event.  Tickets can be purchased here.

On Sunday the 6th November, Tom will be at the Canberra Glassworks doing a hot glass demonstration.  He will be making their Kids’ Design Competition winning entry.  So you’ll be able to see a drawing being transformed into a sculpture.  See the previous article for some of the other winning designs made into glass.

It’s admission by donation, no booking required.  Starting at 11am at Canberra Glassworks.
