In 2025, Sabbia proudly marks its 20th anniversary with two exciting solo exhibitions at Sydney Contemporary, featuring internationally recognised glass artists Tom Moore and Nick Mount. Â This is their first joint appearance at the fair- and includes the debut of collaborative works that celebrate their shared creativity and long-standing friendship.
They  starting mucking about in Tom’s studio with parts that both of them had made – Tom’s idiosyncratic lamp worked elements and Nick’s iconic murrain forms.
Bluetack was involved this day.
They also posed for photographs, as serious artists do.
Tom met Nick at an Ausglass conference in Canberra in 1993, and after from graduating Canberra Art School in the mid 90’s, Tom joined the 2-year intensive training program, run by Nick Mount at JamFactory in Adelaide. Â While working alongside Nick on large production teams, making bottle after bottle and loving it, Tom began to feel truly connected to the history of glassmaking.
Now they just hang out.
The two sets of pieces will be shown at Sydney Contemporary, SABBIA Gallery Booth E04. Â Please see the previous post for more details.

Opening a can of worms is defined as creating a, ‘situation that causes a lot of problems for you’ (Cambridge) and ‘a complicated matter likely to prove awkward or embarrassing’ (Oxford).
Tom:Â Perfect. Â Now we’ve gone and done it, and the possibilities for carful eccentricity are endless.
